‘Fourth Wing’ TV Show Cast Rumors: All the Information We Know

Fourth Wing

One of the most crucial elements of adapting a book for the screen is assembling the perfect cast. Iconic shows like Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, and 1923 owe much of their magic to their outstanding actors and the incredible chemistry they share.

So, when Amazon announced plans to create a TV adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ hit book series Fourth Wing, fans instantly began speculating about who would bring characters like Violet, Xaden, and the rest of the beloved cast to life—especially since we’ve all envisioned them so vividly in our minds!

Now, two actors are dominating the casting rumors for this much-anticipated series, and I’m crossing my fingers (and toes) that they make it to our screens.

Has ‘Fourth Wing’ already found its Xaden?

There’s plenty of buzz surrounding the potential casting for Fourth Wing, with speculation pointing to Josh Heuston as a top contender to play the dragon rider Xaden Riorson. The Australian actor, recognized for his roles in Heartbreak High and Dune: Prophecy, has sparked fan excitement.

Notably, Heuston follows both author Rebecca Yarros and producer Michael B. Jordan on Instagram, and his bio even features a dragon emoji—adding fuel to the rumor fire.

Rebecca Yarros addressed the character’s representation in an interview with Variety, saying, “We’re just going to say [Xaden] is POC. I wanted to ensure that role was as inclusive as possible. Once you give readers your personal vision, they tend to hold onto it, so I intentionally kept it open to allow for diverse interpretations.”

One ‘Twilight’ actress is another that fans would want to play Violet.

Elle couldn’t resist pointing out that Mackenzie Foy, best known for her role as Renesmee in Twilight, follows Rebecca Yarros on social media—and even shared Onyx Storm on her Instagram story! Interestingly enough, she bears an uncanny resemblance to Violet, matching the book’s description flawlessly.

One TikTok user summed it up perfectly, commenting, “Best fancast I’ve seen so far…” Another chimed in, saying, “You know what, I’m not mad at it! I’m actually loving this combo!” Honestly, I couldn’t agree more.

Although we don’t have an official cast announcement yet, we do know that Moira Walley-Beckett, of Anne With An E fame, is taking on the role of showrunner. As for Rebecca Yarros, she’s just as eager as the fans to see who will bring her characters to life on screen.

“I’ve never done this before, so I don’t have an opinion on whether [the cast] should be well-known or not, or what kind of attention that brings,” Yarros shared with Variety. “I trust that they’ll choose the right people when the casting begins.

My hope is that they embody the characters from the book, and I think we’ll know it when we see it. Honestly, I don’t have a preference—just someone who can truly capture the role.”
